Write with us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand music culture through a distinct, well-framed idea. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to see the subject, approach and intended reader.
What we want to read
Good proposals explore a specific corner of scenes, genres, fandom, music media or listening rituals. They explain why the subject is interesting, what the piece will add, and how its scope can stay focused. Fresh comparisons, careful cultural context and plain explanations of specialist terms are welcome.
A useful pitch
Include a working title, a short summary, the main points you would cover and any sources or examples the piece would rely on. Tell us whether the proposal is exclusive or has appeared elsewhere. Avoid pitches that depend on unsupported claims or treat a whole community as if it had one voice.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to submit a proposal. Please include a brief contributor introduction relevant to the pitch; no credentials are required. We cannot promise publication or a particular response time.
