Our standards
Urban Music Culture aims to be clear about what we know, what we interpret and how our work is made. We correct errors openly and keep editorial decisions separate from commercial arrangements.
Accuracy and context
We check names, terms and factual details against reliable material before publication. Cultural descriptions need context: genres and scenes change, overlap and mean different things to different communities. We avoid flattening those differences into a single definitive account.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial coverage is decided on its relevance to readers, not on a partner's preferences. Sponsored material and partner placements are clearly labelled so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage.
Corrections
If something is inaccurate or unclear, readers can contact us with the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and update material when a change is warranted, making significant corrections clear to readers.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Where relevant, we identify that use and take care not to present illustrative imagery as documentary evidence.
Music is a sound and a shared world
We follow the language, places and customs around music, making room for curious listeners at every level of familiarity.
